McMahan Q&A
Place: Louisville, Kentucky.
Your favorite snack?
Frozen York Patties
Favorite quote this week?
“If people and their manner of living were alike everywhere, there would not be much point in moving from one place to another.” (Paul Bowles)
Most interesting place you've ever slept?
A crooked ramshackle very earth-friendly little abode in the mountains of North Carolina on a motorcycle trip with my dad. I slept on the fold out couch after we played cards all evening (no tv, radio or internet to fill the hours).
Last books you checked out from the library?
Paul Bowles' Morocco, a beautiful photo and essay book.
Barbara Kingsolver's Pigs in Heaven for a long plane ride
Clotilde's Edible Adventures in Paris by Clotilde Dusoulier
Most embarrassing guilty pleasure?
Battlestar Galactica on DVD, episodes at a time
Best foreign phrase you know?
I learned hamdulillah for my trip to Morocco recently and delighted in how it rolls of the tongue and tried to get as many people to say it to me as possible (it's a response to a "how are you" sort of question that means "Fine, thanks be to God.")
Most recent education?
A photography workshop in Paris and cooking class in Marrakech. And a BS in Psychology a few years ago from Eastern Kentucky University.
